We carried our heavily-sedated new family member to the car and escorted her safely and comfortably to my in-laws for a quiet dinner in. I didn't snap a photo but here's what we had. While she settled down in the crate, Kendall and I sipped a beer and just chilled with her while Kathy worked on dinner. This dog's grandfather is IN LOVE with her and even helped us pick her name... Maple!
For dinner we had wild rice (1 C), apricot-ginger chicken (5 oz) and green beans with almonds (1 C) and a salad (1 C) that I had 1 Tbsp Green Goddess and 1 Tbsp vinaigrette. Then we toasted the New Year with a big of champagne and got down to business with a slice of razzleberry pie and decaf. Yum! Then we headed home to hang out with our puppy.
You know you love nutrition when your dog's first toy is a carrot.
My brother and sister-in-law and dad came over last night for dinner, and we threw together a chicken cacciatore, some rice, green beans, a roll and salad. It wasn't bad for a pantry/freezer dinner
